If you’ve popped into Greenlife recently, you may have noticed something looking a little cooler in-store!
After many years of loyal service, our old fridges and freezer have now been replaced with brand-new, energy-efficient models — designed to keep your favourite chilled and frozen products at their very best. It’s a big behind-the-scenes upgrade, but one that makes a real difference to how we store food, how we use energy, and how enjoyable it is to shop.
A fresher, greener upgrade
The new Jordão refrigeration units feature Schott Termofrost® glass doors, which provide excellent insulation and crystal-clear visibility. That might sound like a small detail, but better insulation helps keep temperatures stable and reduces the amount of energy needed to maintain consistent cooling.
They run on R452A refrigerant — a more eco-friendly gas with a much lower global warming potential than traditional systems. That means this upgrade isn’t only about performance; it’s also a positive step for both the planet and our store’s overall energy footprint.
With LED lighting throughout and quieter, more efficient cooling, these fridges are a real investment in sustainability. They also create a cleaner, brighter look in the chilled area — making it easier to spot what you need, compare options, and discover something new.
Better shopping experience
For customers, the change means brighter displays, steadier temperatures, and more space for our wide range of organic dairy, plant-based alternatives, and chilled foods — from everyday essentials to those little treats that make the week feel lighter.
Our freezer section has also had a complete refresh, ensuring frozen goods are stored in optimal conditions — from your favourite pizzas to local ice creams. Better storage helps protect quality, texture, and freshness, and it also supports food integrity from delivery to your kitchen.
